mischarmed: a skeptic's attempt to survive mere existence... "Truth is inconvertible. Malice may attack it, ignorance may deride it, but in the end, there it is." ~ W. Churchill

25

August 9, 2006

25 years ago, in a small maternity clinic in Kalookan city, a little girl was born one month short of the nine months gestation period.  Fragile, small and skin on the side of the dark red tint.  Hence the name, Apple.  No, it's not based on the fruit.  It was a prettier name than the length Apolid, which was then a local word for an ugly dark creature.  The parents are more than happy to take care of this little girl, as they have prayed not for a beautiful child but one kind, smart and good.

25 years later, that same girl is an ugly duckling no longer.  Yes, she is still called Apple, to very close members of her family.  None could have seen or fathom just how much she has become since that day quarter century ago.

Today, as she celebrated her 25th year of existence, she sents her parents - her Nanay and Tatay a message to convey her gratitude and appreciation for everything that they have given her in the past years.

What we did, we thought are the things we have to do, out of love, our of duty.  On your 25th birthday and beyond, we hope and pray that you would be safe from harm, have inner peace and be healthy.  May you have a daily supply of GOD's bessing and wisdom.  HAPPY BIRTHDAY. - 09-Aug-2006, 07:03:55am.

Thank you, Tatay and Nanay for everything.  For my dear family, thanks for always being there.  To Hunn, thanks for the cake, for the surprise and being with me always.  To my friends, thanks for all your greetings and messages, and for the time shared together.  Lord, thanks for all of these wonderful angels disguised in family and friends.
