typical day with canine & felines
May 28, 2006Kira dear, I know that since I've dropped the line about this item, you've been waiting for this. I've been planning on posting this event just in time for Mother's day, but I really have so much crammies on a very little space on my head. I think some people call it a brain. Nevertheless, here's the long delayed post….
Late last year, hubby and I bought two tzus, Tuffy and Champy. Tuffy: 2 yr old gold & white female tzu, had two litters already. Champy: 4 yr old, tricolor proven stud. We bought them from a breeder who's migrating to Canada. It was difficult house-breaking them, but we love them oh so much. Especially hubby. He's the designated vet, beautician, daddy and mommy all-around. Earlier the year, he was the one who assisted our cat (pusa-kal hehehe) , petpet to deliver three healthy kittens (Molly (F) whom we gave to my sister, Echo (M) & Charlie (M) who are still with us). Echo had a small health problem - his vet told him to ice his anus to push it back. I don't know where the vet got his education, but that method made it worse. If not for Hubby's sound logic, Echo would have died. Now look at him.
May 12 marked Hubby's 2nd delivery. Okay, he's not pregnant, and I wasn't near to that stage yet. But Tuffy is. Early morning, Tuffy's labor started. I was half-awake and called Hubby's attention. When he got up, I fell asleep again. As it was a working Friday, I woke up some minutes later and found him at the back with Tuffy on a box - one pup already squirming around. Tuffy's a mom again! Of course, that day, Hubby wasn't able to go to work. Nah, he didn't file for a paternity leave (though I suggested that). Tuffy would follow him if he leave her, so he really didn't have much of a choice. When I left for work, there's two pups already. At around 11am, he sent me an SMS telling that it finally stopped. Our tzus are proud of 5 new additions to the herd.
I really love doggies, especially pups. They are just so adorable. I wanted a pug, a chi, and a golden retriever. Okay, I originally wanted a rottie because I wanted a big black guard. But after long debates, we ended with the cute tzu. Tzus, for that matter. So for the past weeks since the 12th, we've been running a herd of 8 dogs and 2 cats. I guess I have to update my sidebar, coz we don't have Petpet anymore. (She's pregnant, but not sure how she's doing though. ) Late at night, I was tasked to browse through information on pet care, and found that we need to schedule their deworming and vaccination schedule soon. So, he called up the vet and set an appointment to take the 5 rascals. De-clawing needs to be done as well, so he took each pup, and gave them a beauty salon nipping. Just enough. haha. I thot these stuff are for the women. I was the one who took the pictures. Have fun with the pictures of the 5 pups. They're so big, they can barely walk. They're just crawling about with their fat tummies. Male Puppies 1, 2 & 3: All blokes looked like they had a beer-fest with the size of their tummies. hahaha. Cute Gurlashes 1 &2: The Adorable Softies No offense, but I like my female pups better. They are especially so cute when they're asleep, and I took their pictures - they are just so so adorable. Nightie-night 5 pups… I am relishing these few moments with them, because I know they'll be going away soon. Oh well, I'm just in the now, and I'll deal with the sad thoughts later on.
Here's a pic of a pack of cows, I mean, Tuffy's final 5 on day 1. Hehehe. And, I don't want to be the grandma. Lolah with an H is acceptable. If I need to be a lola, make it the hot one. hahaha. One of the pups is hidden. Guess where? hehe.
The usual Sunday (the only day Hubby can spend the entire day at home and not minding work) commenced with a brunch at around 10am (made by yours truly), house cleaning, laundry (but I did mine last night), and Doggie baths. I really am amazed with the way he handles the kids, I mean, the dogs. Maybe a paternal instinct? Call me biased, but its more of maternal. He started off with our dog, Choco (askal), then Mommy Tuffy to clean her out asap to be with the pups, and lastly, with long-haired daddy Champy. I don't have his patience of washing them off, shampooing, blow drying and combing them. Really. I know, i know, patience is a virtue, but that doesn't apply to me.

Quite some cute pups you got there.
[1] on the posting, u can post them up. Selling them, actually, the sad part is - YES, i need to sell them because i won't be able to take care of them. I work in laguna, hubby works in ortigas. If plans carry out and I move to Makati as well, we really have to wait for the 2mos before selling them off - including the parents.. ooh im so sad…
