1st Quarter Review
April 1, 2006@the Career: so far so good.. that's all i can say.. i got good projects, good colleagues, good buddies @ work, good manager, (let's not go thru the the tangible benefits, shall we? coz i think we'll ruin the nice chant.. haha.. kidding!). i'm enjoying my work, enjoy learning lots of stuff and realizing that i still need a lot to learn (it's humbling and keeps my feet on the ground.. gud for me). it's just good that people i work with are very helpful to people like me. haha. so it's still - lucky me.
sidetracking a bit.. Company 8 called me again last night. the project manager is convincing me to take the offer, increasing my per diem travel allowance, training, etc, etc, etc… I'm really, really tempted. *Sigh* Wish things were pretty simple.

@the Work Area: today, we realize the 2k6 appraisal, but i haven't seen it. no official announcement yet. they said we were supposed to talk, but well, promises are meant to be… promises… (what else?)…So maybe i'll post my review really on this issue when I got the official item. i don't count my chickens from the eggs (especially if the eggs are rotten haha).
Yesterday, another white paper was seen floating in the scene yesterday. Let's call this scene, the Lucky 9 scenario. Who's lucky 9? the 9th person to flung that legendary white letter to the management. last day of the quarter, and he made the count.

@the Country: i'm not into the political stuff really.. yeah, i was part of the Edsa Dos, coz incidentally, that term i was taking up POLIGOV. so it's pretty much part of the hype then. but really, from someone who've been working for the past (almost) 5 years, paying dutifully the taxes, i ain't happy. every morning, when hubby listens to the news, it's a never ending parade of politicans trying to get the limelight.
frankly speaking, i didn't vote last presidential elections (okay!!! guilty!!!). i dun't know who to vote. i know it's bad… maybe FPJ would have won if it voted? haha. point is, i just wish whatever it is they're debating on, whatever they're arguing on, would fill my stomach (ok not mine… but those who needed the fat.. i have to believe i'm on a diet).. get what i mean? all these issues of GMA cheating on the election, the widow of FPJ with the opposition on the heat on getting her off that seat, the militant always on the street protesting, rallying… students classes and sometimes workforces have their days off. of course, that last part hasn't much impact to us. but with these things happenings, is it really making the country a better place to live in? i remember, attending some of those movements, they were shouting that it's for the betterment of the future generation, because they don't want their children to experience the same inequality and suffering they endured. i'm sorry but it's plain BS to me. maybe i really am indifferent. Esda Dos happened to overthrow Erap, to put GMA in. Now we want to overthrow GMA, and put who in? Come on, guys. Yeah, its a democratic country - people are free to do whatever they want. i want to add - as long as it's for the good of the many. Politicians, government leaders, celebrities, managers, even employees have their own ways and means of being corrupt. People, regardless of stature, given the right opportunity can be corrupt. I agree that leaders should think the best for the many and not be corrupt. But realistically, each has that tendency. it's human nature. Ok, we made the wrong decision on putting that person there. But does changing that person at the middle of the term would do anything good? Considering our fragile economy, i think not. My stand, let her finish the term. Make sure u don't vote for her again. Continue working, for GS. All these politicians babling about what should be… How about what is to be done, and acting on it? It's our money that you guys are spending!!!
The good things I've heard: there are some taxi drivers, who don't have money to ensure a meal tomorrow, but when people leave stuff at their cabs, they bought it to the station and broadcast for those who might own it. Or even store keepers. There was one who gets a low wage, tending and stocking the items in one of the stores in the city. He saw a purse left by someone. It contains lots of dollars, pesos. He earns a weekly wage, his wife is 5 or mos pregnant. He bought it to station Day 1. Day 2, the owner called - it was a nun in baguio - the money was for the orphanage. How could u not love the Filipino spirit? See. there's still hope. Now that guy should be a politician. Um… on 2nd thought, leave him there. he may become an alligator like the rest of them.

@the Family: i have more time now than before to visit my family - my parents, my brother and sisters. Dnlle is a full-pledged working nurse now (now, how does it feel to be working hahaha?), Nando is entering his 3rd year in univ, and Gela is - the sweet princess we have. Summer gimik? I think they have plans to got to Bora again. I just wish this time i can go.

@our Home: we're still renting a two-bedroom small apartment, with 3 dogs, 3 cats. For the past quarter, hubby got a new job in Ortigas and works Mon-Sats. That makes Sunday a pretty sacred day for us — and the doggies. Tuffy, our 2yo fem tzu is on her 3rd wk (after the mating session), and it's evident that she's pregnant. Champy, our 4yo male tzu is still looking for partners. Choco, our mongy, is still, choco. he's the fastest runner for the three when we walk them out. But we need to sell both Tuffy and Champy…
yeah, it makes me sad. but it's best coz right now, we really don't have much time to take care of them like before. the cats … they're still loving the homeground. haha.

Hmm, not bad for the 1st quarter of the year, huh? Rating of 1-10 with 10 as the highest, i think it's 7.5. hahaha.
